Our Members enjoy the most importance!
ICJA is dependent on voluntary services.
The ICJA’s work can best be described as “volunteers work for volunteers”. Our volunteer services worldwide are based on a number of experienced volunteers whom are active members of the NGO and its general assembly.
ICJA is a non-profit organisation. We welcome anybody who finds ICJA’s goals worth supporting. ICJA is a charitable organisation and has the legal power to certify donation receipts.
Within the federal republic of Germany, ICJA acts as a free carrier of youth help (according to German Law: § 75 KJHG) and is a recognised supplier to conduct a Free Social Year abroad (according to German Law: §14c ZDG) and the European Volunteer Service (EVS).
ICJA is part of different networks.
A general meeting happens annually, in this meeting the members nominate other members for representation on the assembly of (senior) delegates. The members elect their delegates for the Assembly of Delegates. These delegates are named for a duration of two years. The maximum number of delegates is 20. The Delegate Assembly usually meets (bi-annually). Their functions include:
discussions about fundamental questions and guidelines for the work of the NGO
election of the Executive Board
decision on budget plans
The Executive Board consists of four people: the Head of the Board, Deputy Head of the Board, treasurer and assessor. It organises meeting several times a year and guides the work of the ICJA in the name of the Delegate Assembly. The Executive Board is elected for two consecutive years.
